2018 Summer Reading Challenge Now Underway!

///2018 Summer Reading Challenge Now Underway!

The theme for the 2018 Summer Reading Challenge is “Libraries Rock!” and Prendergast Library has several events and activities planned in addition to our annual contest to show just how much they do!

As in years past, children, teens, and even adults can become eligible to win in our grand prize drawings by reading, with each age group has separate prizes. In addition, kids and teens can earn free books through reading during the challenge. See below for more details on prizes.

We’ll be kicking off the festivities on Saturday, June 23rd with lawn games and lemonade; this will also be the first day that reading logs can be picked up. You can also register at http://prendergastlib.ny03.readsquared.com to track minutes online.

We’ll have expanded programming at the library and daily activities in the Children’s Room:

Storytimes for kids will be offered Monday through Thursday at 10:30am, and our Makerspace activities will continue in the afternoons from 3:30-5:00pm.  In addition, we’ll have a host of other activities going on for various age groups. Take a look at our Summer Reading Calendar for more information.
