The Reference Desk is staffed during normal library hours of operation.
The James Prendergast Library’s Reference Staff is trained to provide library assistance to users in- person, telephone, chat and email. The Reference Desk is located towards the back of the library underneath the sign labeled “Information”. Public access computers are available behind the desk to search the library’s catalog and databases for finding articles electronically. The Reference collection of print material is behind the reference desk in the back of the library.
The Reference collection consists of general and specialized encyclopedias, dictionaries, periodical indexes and abstracts, almanacs, handbooks, city directories, and many other resources.
Faxing is available for a small fee:
- Outgoing- $2.00 for the first page, $1.00 for each additional page. There is no fee for a cover sheet.
- Incoming- $1.00 per page received.
