Book Sale 2008

The Library holds a book sale the second weekend in June to raise money for new materials. Book Sale 2008 will be held Friday June 13th from 11:00am-9:00pm and Saturday June 14th from 9:00am-5:00pm. This will be the 29th annual such event, and it is the largest book sale in the Southern Tier, generally offering between 40,000 and 50,000 books, hardcover and paperback.

The majority of items for sale are donated by individuals in the community. Books are sorted and arranged by subject: history, art, sports, children's etc... Cassettes, cds, records, videos, sheet music, and framed reproductions are also offered for sale. Collectors items, rare books, encyclopedias and other books in sets or excellent condition are available in the Special Room. Items in the Special Room are individually priced. Otherwise, the price schedule, which has not been raised in nine years, is listed below. A bag sale is held on Saturday from 2:00pm-5:00pm during which bargain hunters can fill a grocery bag for $5.00.

Donations for the sale are tax-deductible and are accepted year-round at the Library's Front Desk. The Library will not accept magazines, school textbooks, or Readers Digest Condensed Books.
