Children’s Room Computer Use Rules
- Children must sign up at
the Children’s Room desk before using the computers.
They should present a Prendergast Library card unless their parent/guardian is
present and presents their library card or some type of identification.
- Children may sign up
once each day to use each computer for the allotted time limit.
- If two children are
using a computer together, neither one can sign up to use that computer again
that day.
- Only one person can sign
up to be the next user. No more than one person should be waiting to use each
computer.
- Everyone is expected to
work quietly at the computers and use the equipment carefully. Inappropriate
behavior will result in the loss of computer privileges.
- Printing costs 15¢ per
page. Do not click on print unless you will pay for the pages. You must
pay for any pages that you print. Go the main circulation desk to pay
for and pick up your printing.
- The computers are turned
off 15 minutes before closing time.
Internet Rules
- Children must have an
Internet permission form signed by a parent/guardian on file with us to be
able to use the Internet.
- Children must have a
Prendergast Library card unless their parent/guardian is present and presents
their library card or some type of identification for signing up to use the
Internet.
- Children must be at
least 7 years old and in the 2nd grade to use the Internet unless
assisted by an adult. The adult’s card must be taken in this case.
- Anyone viewing the
Internet while another is using it must have Internet permission on file and
must present his/her card, also.
ADULTS: The computers in the Children’s Room are only
for the use of children under the age of 14 and for those between 14 and 18 who
do not have parental permission to use the Public Computer Room.
