100th member of
Friends of Prendergast Library

President Dennis Bechmann, standing at right, welcomes Rosemary
Prendergast Merchant of Orange Village, Ohio, third from left, as the
100th member of Friends of Prendergast Library. Also joining her are her
sisters, Marie Prendergast of Maple Heights, Ohio and Pat Prendergast Hanusz
of Toledo, Ohio, seated from left; her brother, Mike Prendergast of Ravenna,
Ohio, standing at left, and his wife Gloria. Visiting Jamestown during a
recent family reunion at Cheney's Point, the four siblings believe they are
distant relatives of the Prendergasts who founded the library. They remember
weekly library visits with their parents, Patrick and Louise Prendergast,
and they have continued this practice with their own families.
