Only about one-third of the revenue necessary to support the library comes from taxes. The rest comes from private donations. Each year the library solicits donations by letter from its borrowers and friends. This money is used to buy new books and other library materials. Donors of $400 or more are recognized on plaques at the front of the library. Others are noted in the library's annual report.
