Hispanic Heritage Craft EventCelebrate Hispanic traditions through crafts at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 at the library. Learn to make papel picado, Mexican folk art, Chilean rain sticks and a Puerto Rican guiro. Activities are geared toward children and teens, but all ages are welcome. This event is part of the library’s recognition of National Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, celebrating the heritage and culture of Hispanic and Latino Americans.

Jennifer Abarca, a social work intern from Fredonia, works on one of the crafts to be taught at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 at Prendergast Library, 509 Cherry St., Jamestown. Those attending will learn to make papel picado, Mexican folk art, Chilean rain sticks and a Puerto Rican guiro in recognition of National Hispanic Heritage Month. The event is geared toward children and teens, but all ages are welcome.
