Prendergast Library will offer a variety of computer classes during April in addition to individual assistance with resumes and technology.
A four-part series called Introduction to Microsoft Office 2010 is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays April 4, 6, 11 and 13. Sessions will focus on spreadsheets, word processing, presentations and basic publishing.
Stand-alone classes include:
- Introduction to the Online Marketplace from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 12. Learn more about eBay, Amazon and Craigslist and how to list items for sale. Knowledge and use of an email system is a prerequisite.
- Introduction to Spreadsheets (Excel) from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 16. Students will learn to input information and format cells in a spreadsheet. They will also create a simple budget, learn to use basic formulas, and create a graph.
- Introduction to All Things Google from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 20. Participants will learn to make the most of Google accounts for personal and professional use. Basic knowledge of computers and the Internet is required, and prior use of a Gmail account is helpful.
All classes are free and open to the public. To sign up for a class, call 484-7135. One-on-one appointments are available for help with resumes or technology assistance, and 3D printing demonstrations can also be scheduled.
