The James Prendergast LIBRARY LITERACY CENTER is made possible by the Hultquist Foundation, Inc. The Prendergast LIBRARY LITERACY CENTER is a library sponsored, Laubach Literacy Action affiliate which provides free literacy instruction to adults in our area. While the focus of this program is primarily to teach non-reading adults how to improve their reading skills, our volunteer tutors also provide help where needed in such areas as writing skills, math, and English As A Second Language (ESL).

Prendergast LIBRARY LITERACY CENTER has an on going need for volunteer tutors. Tutor training is free and materials are also provided free of charge.

For further information call Marion Welch, Literacy Coordinator at 484-7135, ext. 240 or e-mail at mwelch@cclslib.org.
