Library Hopes to Pique Interest in Science and Technology

Thanks to a grant from the Holmberg Foundation, Prendergast Library opened a new Makerspace on Friday, September 29 dedicated to creative, STEM-based activities. Featuring exciting technology including a green screen, Lego wall, robotics, single-board computers, and a 3-D printer.

Library Director Tina Scott, Librarian Kristie Bemis, and Technology Staff Member Robert Hewitt pose with new materials for the Makerspace.

The Makerspace is open Tuesday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:00pm, and the library will be offering STEM-based programming during these times. Come in and make a button, take a picture at our green screen, check out our new 3D printer, see our robots in action and explore electricity with Snap Circuits!
