Who the heck are Page Turners?

Well, just about anybody in the Jamestown area in grades 3 through 8 who wants to share reading adventures with others.  Most Page Turners will want to join discussion groups of ten members who will receive a selected book from the Library.  Each group will have about 3 weeks (maybe 4) to read the book, then will meet at the Library with the Page Turner moderator to talk about it.
As they read the book, group members can keep in touch by e-mail through the Page Turners listserv.  They will share ideas and feelings about their reading, and help each other prepare for the discussion meeting.
You don't have to be in a group to be an active Page Turner, though.  Your comments about any book are always welcome on the listserv, and many will be posted on the World of Books link in this web page.  If you want, you can follow what other groups are reading and discussing until you're able to form or join a group of your own.  Some groups may form at school, or through clubs or organizations, or just by visiting the Children's Room and expressing an interest.
And remember: we want parents to be Page Turners, too!  Ask your parents to read the books you read, and bring them to group discussion sessions.  The Children's Room staff will be able to answer any other questions you might have.
