The library will begin offering curbside pickup of materials and printing services on June 3rd.
The safety of staff and customers is of the utmost importance. During the first phase of the library’s reopening, we will be offering curbside pickup of materials and printing services; patrons will not enter the library. Additional services, such as computer use appointments, will be made available as the library moves forward in its reopening plan.
Staff will be wearing masks during all interactions, and we ask that patrons wear masks as well.
PICKING UP HOLDS
We will be offering contact-free curbside pickup of materials.
Curbside pickup will be available from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Monday-Friday, and from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays. These are temporary hours for the library to provide curbside pickup, not permanent operating hours.
To ensure social distancing, pickup will be available by appointment only.
- This is new to you and to us, and we greatly appreciate your understanding as we fine-tune this service. Be assured, we’re doing everything we can to make this process as seamless as possible.
If you had materials on hold when the library closed, those materials are still available for you to pick up. Staff will be calling all patrons with items on hold, or you can call us at (716) 484-7135 ext. 225 to schedule your pickup appointment.

Up to 5 items per account may be placed on hold.
- When you place your holds, staff will schedule your pickup appointment. Please only come to pick up your hold during that scheduled time.
- Only items in the Prendergast Library’s collection will be available for curbside pickup
Those picking up holds are asked to quickly come and go. Your materials will be placed on a table in the front entrance of the library. Please show your ID or library card to library staff before picking up your materials.
You will not be able to browse the collection in person for now, as patrons cannot enter the library at this time. Please look for items online from home, call us to place holds, and we will get items ready for you when you visit. Staff are happy to help you to select materials as well.

The library will be offering printing, copying, and faxing services during this time – these services are available by appointment.

All items must be returned in the bookdrop at the library’s front entrance. Staff cannot take them for you. All due dates have been extended, so please don’t worry about overdue fines on items checked out during the library’s closure. All returns are being quarantined for 72 hours and disinfected before circulating.

- Meeting and study rooms are unavailable.
- There will be no in-person events until a later date.
- We are not taking donations of materials at this time.
