The 2020 Prendergast Run for Literacy is Saturday, May 9, 2020. This is the 14th year of the race – thank you to our race participants, friends and family for a  morning of fun!

The library is excited for the 14th annual Run for Literacy! This 5K run and walk helps raise money for the library.

This year, all kids and teens (under age 18) can run or walk for FREE!

Pre-registration closes on May 7th at 8:00 AM; day of race registration will run from 8:00 to 8:45 AM on May 9.

Pre-race packet pick-up
8:00 – 8:45 A.M on the Fifth Street side of the library, in the Community Room.

Race Course
The race course begins at the library, continues through neighborhood streets, circles through Lake View Cemetery, and returns to the library. The course is level and slightly downhill to the cemetery. Inside the cemetery, the course has hills and some level. Back to the library, the course has a slight incline and level. Map

In the library parking lot, on the 6th Street side of the library; in 5th Street parking ramp, and on side streets.

Post Race
Awards and refreshments will be presented in the Johnson Community Room of James Prendergast Library.

Awards to Overall Top Male and Female runner; Male & Female 1st & 2nd place in 5 year age groups.

Walk Awards to Overall Men, Women, Boys, Girls: 1st, 2nd & 3rd places.
