Make Take Your Child to the Library Day one of your many trips to the Library! Take Your Child to the Library Day is an international movement that encourages families everywhere to take their children to their local library!  It was launched in 2011 in Connecticut by librarians to raise community awareness about the importance of the library in the life of a child, promote public library programs and services, and bring families together. The Prendergast Library has participated for many years, and we have a day filled with family-friendly fun that introduces children to the wonders of reading and the library.
