VolunTEEN Program

Join us at the Prendergast Library to help prep, set-up and assist with our summer games and programs!

How Does It Work?

  • Be a teen aged 14-18.
  • Fill out the application below.
  • Attend an orientation.
  • Sign up for volunteer shifts.
  • Work your shift and have fun!

We are looking for teens aged 14-18 who are interested in volunteering at the library. Potential volunteer opportunities include assisting with programs such as Outdoor Games, YMCA lunches, Wednesday Outdoor Playtime and other summer programs.

Expectations & Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Prendergast Library this summer! Youth must be at least 14 to volunteer. Youth between 14 and 17 years old must have the written consent of a parent or legal guardian to volunteer at Prendergast Library. The following guidelines apply:

  • I understand that I/my child will be provided with and must attend any training necessary for the safe and responsible performance of my/his/her/their duties.
  • I understand that I/he/she/they will be expected to meet all the requirements of the position, including regular attendance, refraining from using electronic devices (phones, tablets, etc.) during shift, engaging politely and professionally with program attendees, and adherence to Prendergast Library policies and procedures.
  • I understand that I/my child should wear appropriate clothing for the activity and weather as many volunteer opportunities will occur outside. (Clothes should be school appropriate.)
  • I understand that I/he/she/they will not receive monetary compensation for the services contributed.
  • I release Prendergast Library from any and all liabilities related to or arising from my/my child’s service as a volunteer.

Photo/Video/Audio Release

I do hereby give permission to Prendergast Library or any of its media partners to use my/my child’s picture, portrait, photograph, image, or voice in any or all forms of marketing and advertising, including the Prendergast Library website, social media, brochures, bulletins and displays.

My signature on this form acknowledges that I consent to my/my child volunteering at the Prendergast Library. I have read, understand and accept the terms.
