Research and Tech Help
Research and Technology Assistance
Library staff are happy to provide technology and research assistance, over the phone and in person. Extensive questions may require an appointment so we can better assist you – the library offers 1-on-1 tech help by appointment.
If you have a research or tech question, or would like to schedule a 1-on-1, please call the library’s Information Desk at 484-7135, ext. 226 or email us.
The Information Desk is staffed during our open hours, Monday-Friday 9am-7pm and Saturdays 10am-4pm.
Faxing is available at the Information Desk. The library’s fax number is (716) 484-1148. Outgoing faxing costs $2.00 for the first page, $1.00 for each additional page. Incoming faxes are $1.00 per page received.
Visit our Events page to learn more about library programming. We offer monthly computer classes and genealogy workshops.

Fees for Research
If you are unable to visit the library, our staff can search for the information you need using the library’s print, microform and electronic resources. Quick searches (under 15 minutes) are free; more extensive research queries require payment.
To submit a request for paid research, fill out our Online Research Request Form or email the following information to firstname.lastname@example.org
- Standard: (nonprofits/individual)
$25 per hour
- Commercial: (for-profit organizations)
$50 per hour
Research sessions are a minimum of one hour. Payment needs to be received prior to staff beginning the search. Additional time after the first hour will be billed after the project is complete. You may request a maximum time to be spent on the project.
In addition to the time spent searching, you will be charged for time required for retrieving items as well as preparing materials to be sent. Refunds are not available if the information requested is not found.
