Summer Reading Program Begins June 29th!

On READsquared, you can:
- log reading by book or time
- set individual reading goals
- earn badges
- participate in games and missions
You have access to the READsquared app! The app is available in the iTunes Store or Google Play. Library staff can assist you with set up—email reference@prendergastlibrary.org with questions.
Join our “All Together Now” Summer Reading Celebration!
June 29 – August 31
We have programs for children, teens, and adults.
The first day of Summer Reading is also the day of our Block Party! Earn prizes and get information at our Summer Reading Tent at the Block Party.

Grades 6 & Below
To participate in Summer Reading, children can complete a Reading & Activity log, and participate in Read for Beads!
Reading & Activity Log
- Pick up your Summer Reading & Activity Log at the library’s Children’s Desk or sign up with READsquared to record your reading and activities online.
- Read, visit the Makerspace, and complete library activities.
- Color in the corresponding petals, bugs, and clouds on this sheet as you read and complete activities. For activities, write what you did!
- Bring your completed or partially completed log to the library’s Children’s Desk. For Every 60 minutes (4 petals) you read, you will get a bead. For every activity you complete, you will get a bead.
Each week you visit the library over Summer Reading, you get to pick a free book!

Teens
Printer-Friendly Bingo Sheets
Printer-Friendly Program Brochure
- Pick up a Teen Bingo sheet from the Teen Area, the Children’s Desk or print one online here: Teen Bingo Sheet
- Complete squares by reading, attending programs, and participating in activities.
- Turn your Bingo sheet in at the library’s Children’s Desk. You can complete as many or as few squares as you want. (You can also record your Bingo sheet info in READsquared instead of using the paper version.)
- Each completed square is one entry into the Teen Grand Prize drawings!

Adults
Printer-Friendly Bingo Sheets
Printer Friendly Program Brochure
- Participants can pick up a Summer Reading Bingo sheet at the Circulation Desk or Information Desk in the library.

Finish a “Bingo row” and get entered into a prize drawing. All participants who finish as least one “Bingo row” get a Prendergast Library tote bag to fill with book sale books.

Complete a whole bingo sheet and get entered into a special prize drawing!
