2024 Summer Reading Program for Teens
Welcome to our Teen Summer Reading Celebration!
June 29th-August 24th, 2024
How to Participate
- This year, teens will complete journal prompts and read books to earn entries into the Grand Prize drawings. Journals will be provided by the library.
- Pick up a journal at the Community Block Party, Teen Pizza and Bubble Party on July 8th, or anytime at the Children’s desk after June 29th.
- Complete prompts by writing or drawing in your journal.
- Stop by the Children’s desk and staff will stamp next to each completed prompt. Each weekly visit earns a Treasure Chest prize.
- Prompts and books read will earn entries into the Teen Grand Prize drawings!

Community Block Party & Summer Reading Kickoff
Saturday, June 29: 11:00am-2:00pm
Join us to celebrate the start of Summer Reading at our annual Block Party! Enjoy food, games, crafting, music, prizes, and more.
Teen Crafting
Tuesdays: 5:00-7:00pm
Join us every Tuesday for Teen Crafting. Try a new project each week. This summer we will make a CD Coaster Mosaic, experiment with watercolors, paint bookends, make origami, and more.
Teen D&D Night
Wednesday, July 31 4:30-6:30pm
Come and play Dungeons & Dragons with other teens. Everything you need will be provided for you plus some snacks! Teen D&D nights are the last Wednesday of every month. To reserve your spot, call (716) 484-7135 Ext. 226.
Drumming Workshops with Infinity
Thursdays, July 11 – August 29: 11:00am-12:00pm
Join us on the library’s front lawn for a drum circle. Drums and other percussion instruments will be provided. You are welcome to bring your drum. No experience is necessary.
Pizza and Bubble Party
Tuesday, July 8 – 2:00-4:00pm
Kick off Summer Reading with a pizza and bubble party. Eat pizza and experiment with making different kinds of bubbles, big and small!
DIY Boba Tea
Thursday, July 18: 1:00-2:30pm
Enjoy a taste of Taiwan by making your own boba tea! Registration is required; register by calling 716-484-7135 Ext. 226
Book Swap
Friday, July 26: 9:00am-7:00pm
Celebrate the halfway point of Summer Reading with a Book Swap! Bring in a book you no longer want and trade it for something new. Categories for kids, teens, and adults will be available. Contributed books must be in good condition.
“Neon” Sign Program
Wednesday, August 21: 5:00-7:00pm
Make a personalized light-up sign to take home!

Summer Reading Finale – Ice Cream Party
Saturday, August 31: 12:30-2:30pm
Celebrate a successful summer of reading with an ice cream party on the library’s patio! All are welcome to attend as we play lawn games, socialize, and award Summer Reading prizes.
